Janet Hart’s strictly surprise 65th

This was a unique event brief, from the venue requirements through to the carefully implemented correspondence policy. City Livery Halls were looked at, with Stationers’ Hall eventually chosen owing to its suitability for a summer daytime event. The goal from the outset was: surprise. This meant a strict policy of secrecy, with “codes” even being introduced into email communication.

A magical fairy stilt walker greeted guests and secreted them in the hidden garden, via the beautifully designed floral arch, to await the arrival of the birthday girl. The impact of this surprise and ensuing reactions were all captured by the attentive event photographer.

The summer menu ushered in the weather, with a Pimm’s reception to compliment the occasion. A classical pianist accompanied all proceedings on a magnificent grand piano.

After several raucous rounds of Happy Birthday, it was time for the ultimate surprise entertainment, inspired by Janet’s love of “all things strictly”. Guests were led into the ballroom where they were treated to a performance and waltz master class. It was then just left for everyone to “keep on dancing!”
